SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jan. 11, 2007 – Airtronics Metal Products, Inc., one of Silicon Valley’s premier custom sheet metal engineering, design and manufacturing companies for the technology industry, today announced the addition of new manufacturing equipment to expand their capabilities and capacity. Airtronics ™ has recently added this equipment and increased key staff, to support increasing demand from various customers in the high-tech industry.

“This new equipment extends and complements our existing capabilities,” said Jeff Burke, President of Airtronics. “Many of our customers told us they want us to support additional requirements, so we have listened to their feedback, and added this new equipment in response to their needs.”

The first key addition is an Amada EMT3610NT Servo Drive turret punch press, with optional Punch & Form (P&F) capabilities. “The P&F option is used to raise special forming dies to perform enhanced forming functions”, in contrast to a conventional turret, where “forming dies are typically higher than punching dies”, per Amada’s product literature. This new Amada Servo Drive turret punch press is matched up with an Amada ASR510M auto-load tower, which enables “flexibility to produce smaller lot sizes in a variety of material types and thicknesses”, and “can extend unattended operation to multiple shifts”, per Amada.

Airtronics’ other new equipment addition is a pair of Bluco Weld/Fixturing Tables and a series of clamps, blocks and stops, which enable tighter control over features and tolerances on welded frames and cabinets. These modular fixturing systems were added to support increasing customer demand for tight-tolerance mechanical weldments. This addition strengthens Airtronics’ position in the high-tech fabrication industry.
